Free initial consultation magnolia lane estate sales

Meet with us! Free, no obligation consultation with Jenny and John at your location or via Zoom. Here we will discuss the entire process from sorting all the way through sweeping. We will also review the contract and answer any questions you may have.

Sorting and Staging magnolia lane estate sales

Sorting and Staging. During this process, Jenny and John will take careful consideration when sorting and staging your personal items throughout the home to ensure maximum visibility and ease of walkability for the estate sale shoppers.

Fair Market Value magnolia lane estate sales

All items will be priced at fair market value. Any items of significant value or rarity will be appraised by a licensed third party, and at our expense. In-depth market analysis will be used to determine a price point for each item, with that price being displayed prominently and clearly for the duration of the sale. Items will be full price on the first day, with discounts to follow on subsequent days. Negotiations are considered, but only on discount days, and at our discretion, to ensure that the maximum value is realized for each item.

Advertising magnolia lane estate sales

Rest assured that your sale will be well advertised. Magnolia Lane Estate Sales utilizes print, online, and social media advertising. We will list your sale on our own website, also on trade websites such as EstateSales.net, and EstateSales.org, along with The Villages Daily Sun, both in print and online. We will also send a sale notification to all of our email subscribers. Signage will be prominently displayed during the sale days.

Charities magnolia lane estate sales

We'll get close, but not everything will sell. Do you have a favorite charity to whom you'd like to donate your remaining, unsold items? We can coordinate that. If you would like a little help deciding on a local charity, we'd be happy to assist you with that, too. In particular, we work closely with Sheltering Hands of Lady Lake, and our local Habitat for Humanity, among others.

eBay magnolia lane estate sales

Upset about an item that didn't sell? No problem! Have Jenny list it on eBay! She'll handle all of the details, from taking and posting pictures, to carefully packing and shipping!

Cleaning magnolia lane estate sales

Once the sale days have wrapped up, Jenny and John will make sure all sale areas are broom swept, vacuumed, and wiped down. If you're in need of a more comprehensive cleaning at the conclusion of the sale, we're happy to recommend some great local companies who can take care of that for you.

hi friends magnolia lane estate sales

Meet Jenny and John

Hi!  We're Jenny and John, and we are your Magnolia Lane Estate Sales team!

We have been hand-in-hand since 2003, and we have had the privilege of raising our amazing daughter, Alexandra, in both South Carolina, and right here in The Villages.  We're also parents of two cuddly kitties, King Charles and Jazzmin.

Between us, we have over 40 years of experience in sales, marketing, merchandising, and guest services.  Making your sale attractive to buyers is our specialty!

It's possible that you may have seen us at a local Villages softball game, exploring a new park in the area, or even at the grocery store.  For nearly a decade, we've been proud members of this community (our second time around), and we're looking forward to many, many more!

Here are some fun facts about us!

  • We were born in Washington, DC, and raised in the Maryland suburbs.

  • Jenny was a highly competitive swimmer for many years, and now enjoys racing in triathlons around Florida, finishing on the podium as often as she can!

  • Raised by musical parents, John has been the drummer in multiple bands, appeared on dozens of releases, and even toured overseas!

  • We truly are animal fanatics, and one day, we hope to own a small farm with all kinds of wonderful animals to take care of … as they take care of us!

Frequently Asked Questions

I don't live in Florida, but can I still have an estate sale for someone who does?

Of course!  For those folks who need to hold an estate sale for a relative who owns property in and around The Villages, Florida, we can present and discuss our entire process over the phone or via an internet platform like ZOOM.  Contracts may be signed and emailed back to us from wherever you are in the world using Docusign.

Will I need to rent anything like tables and display shelves?

No.  We provide all of the necessary supplies to conduct your sale.  Once you have removed items that you wish to keep, the only thing left for you to do is sit back and relax.

What if there are things I want to keep, but I can't remove them from the house?

Items you wish to keep should be relocated to a designated quarantine room or area of the home that is off-limits to customers.  If the item is too heavy or not readily movable, we will clearly mark it as 'Not For Sale' or simply 'NFS'.

Is there a charge for the initial consultation?

Never.  There are zero up-front costs at Magnolia Lane Estate Sales.  We will also never charge a contract fee or an advertising fee.

Can I be present during your process?

We request that you be absent during the days which are set aside for the sorting, staging, and pricing of your items to be sold. We highly recommend that you not attend the sale, too, as it can be difficult to say goodbye to some personal items that may hold sentimental value.

What sets Magnolia Lane Estate Sales apart from other companies in the area?

Magnolia Lane is a family-owned business focusing on one sale at a time. Jenny and John are your personal team from the initial consultation to the conclusion of the sale.  We are also environmentally conscious, making sure to use sustainable products when conducting our sales.  The number one goal is to sell your items at the best possible prices, while finding new homes for as many items as we can.  We're partners, from start to finish.

How do I get paid?

Once the sale has concluded, we will tally the gross sales and pay to the State of Florida the 7% collected sales tax, with the remaining proceeds being divided according to the terms of your contract.  We will wire your portion to a designated account (preferred), or mail/hand-deliver a check within ten (10) business days following the conclusion of the sale.  We will also mail you a hard-copy of the settlement statement for your records.
